A crease pattern or CP is what you get when you unfold an origami model. The lines you see on the original flat piece of paper show all the creases needed to form the final model. The models on the left are folded from the creases shown on the CPs on the right. CPs are useful for designing and remembering how to fold a particular model. For our senior thesis we could do whatever we wanted so long as we had departmental approval and a professor willing to advise us. A crease pattern or CP is what you get when you unfold an origami model. The lines you see on the original flat piece of paper show all the creases needed to form the final model. The models on the left are folded from the creases shown on the CPs on the right. CPs are useful for designing and remembering how to fold a particular model. Some origami enthusiasts enjoy the challenge of folding from CPs without any steps, diagrams, or tutorials.
